Dear AGILE member,

The AGILE council has a number of initiatives that aim to encourage and promote younger researchers in Geographic Information Sciences.

As part of this we have a number of small bursaries (up to €1200) for early stage or PhD researchers to help them in their career development. This money can be used for a wide range of activities, for example to develop an idea, or collect data or to develop a proposal.

The money can be used for travel and subsistence costs, for example to work for a short time with another research group, or to pay for some aspect of data collection and cleaning.

There is no deadline for applications, but those interested in apply for these bursaries should submit a short (<500 words) rationale and description of the work to be undertaken and a breakdown of the indicative costs to Lex Comber at This email address is being protected from spambots. Please contact Lex if you have any questions about this initiative.
